Abstract
One of the advantages of microplasmas is that it can be generated using any phase of materials, namely, gases, liquids, and solids. We developed methods to generate microplasmas utilizing Taylor cone and filaments formed using ethanol solution, ethanol-electrolyte solution or polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution. Dense microplasmas were generated ethanol filaments by pulsed discharges. Dc corona discharges appeared at the surface of the ethanol-electrolyte solution or PVA solution.
