Abstract
This paper provides a new approach for the optimum determination of membership functions for fuzzy inference system (FIS) based on the use of extended ant colony optimization (ACOR). Proposed method is implemented using Matlab for a single-input and single-output (SISO) FIS and extended for the multiple-input and single-output (MISO) FIS. Simulation results show that the proposed approach could be employed as a simple and effective optimization method for achieving optimum determination of membership functions.
