  • Abstract
    Case-based reasoning (CBR), one operative technology of knowledge discovery, is a method for solving a new problem by referring to similar past cases from the case base. The main idea, process and key technologies of CBR are described systematically, and the application of this technology in manufacturing parameters calculation process is illustrated. Aiming at the application of CBR and the requirements of gear chamfering manufacturing, a calculation system based on knowledge reusing is proposed, including the architecture, system flow and organizing mechanism of the case base. The structure of the retained case is especially expounded, such as the mechanism of retrieving rules and the key items of one case. The final system does prove that it is feasible to use the method of CBR to develop a system for the reusing of machining schemes.
