Abstract
In a fault-tolerant power system the failures must be detected and isolated saving the operational state of the system. So we propose a model for performance evaluation of the automations from a power system. Fail safe behavior of the automation system is modeled and fuzzy safety measures are computed for the most significant automations types. The automatic closing reserve is a very important automation system for power system availability. Two different automation cases are presented in the paper: electric generator case and longitudinal couple case. A fuzzy logic system (FLS) is used for fuzzy safety analysis of the electric power automation system. The input FLS parameters are occurrence and severity of the failure and the output FLS parameter is safety. Also an adequate rule based is elaborated.
