Abstract
An approach for the evaluation of the average slope of the vertically oriented strokes of signatures is described. It is based on the properties of the Fourier Transform which allow accumulating energy of pixels lying on straight lines of same slope alongside a single straight line in the frequency domain. The slope of the latter determines straightforwardly the stroke slope since both slopes differ in pi/2.
