Abstract :
Ontology is increasingly being used to build applications that utilize domain-specific knowledge. This paper addresses the problem of supporting ontology-based semantic query in RDBMS, and proposes the model of ontology-based semantic query in RDBMS. The model consists of three key components. The first part is about ontology technique, and it is the basis and foundation of semantic query. The second part expresses information representation and storage. This part includes information representation, semantic annotation and information storage. The last part is about semantic query. In this part, we express how to implement semantic query in RDBMS. Our approach enables users to reference ontology data directly from SQL using the semantic query operators, and make the ontology-driven applications easy to develop and efficient.
