Abstract :
A robust image transmission strategy over wireless channels was proposed by interpolating a coding controller between source coder and channel coder. According to the characteristics of channel and compressed bit stream, the coding controller dynamically allocates the coding rate for source coder and channel coder. Moreover, an adjustable retransmission controller combined with CRC module is also used at receiving terminals to determine whether the current data packet should be retransmitted or not according to its importance. Simulation results show that the proposed strategy is efficient in achieving acceptable image quality, especially in low signal noise ratio and high compress rate for image wireless transmission system.
