Abstract

In this paper, we describe the business pattern of the 2D barcode service for mobile phones in China; pose 4 classification systems for 2D barcode service applications and divide 2D barcode service applications for cell phones into 4 functions: data read model, online decode model, decode confirm model and decode communication model. By means of industry chain analysis, we derive two main income sources, which are direct income and indirect income. Finally, we utilize the analysis model for telecom value-added service, and predict the outlook for the service´s development by combining the specific characteristics of 2D barcode and evaluating the capacity for its production and diffusion.
