Abstract :
An important issue of knowledge discovery and data mining is the attribute reduction. In this paper, a novel method based on positive region in rough set is proposed for attribute reduction in decision information systems. Compared with the classical positive region calculating algorithm, the new algorithm deletes the compared objects timely and cuts down the combinations of object pairs for next computing. Experiments show that the new algorithm is more efficient on attribute reduction in decision information system.
