Primary Research on the Combination of College English Teaching and the ESP in Software Department

We have firstly analyzed the present situation of the college English teaching and the bilingual teaching. On this basis, we have designed a three-step plan based on corpus teaching for combining them. For the first step (introducing the major knowledge in English to the college English teaching), we have attempted to implement it for one term among the freshmen from the software department in Jiangxi Normal University. And by the end of the term, we have received 66 copies of questionaires. The result shows that this plan is feasible. However, there is a long way for us to go to harmoniously combine the EGP with ESP in college.
