Abstract :
This paper designs a special content component of the flow control object to control learning sequencing based on the sharable content object (SCO) of ADL/SCORM, and then establishes an interoperable learning sequencing model based on the flow control object. In this sequencing model, the learning sequence can be organized in JavaScript or Java Applet language within a flow control object and run at a learner¿s Web browser with a FCO object. The flow control object defines the flow control conditions using the elements of SCORM run-time environment data model, and it requests the learning management system (LMS) to launch controlled learning resource objects through the extended API method of SCORM¿s run-time environment, so the learning sequence based on the flow control object is interoperable. This new approach to design learning sequence based on flow controlling may solve the problems of inefficiency, complication, and difficult implementing, which exist in the IMS simple sequencing and the SCORM sequencing and navigation.
