Abstract :
This paper presents the novel concept of extended extraction for coarse-grain scalable bit-stream, and is based on allowing the selection of varying number of dependency layers at different temporal levels. As a result, new useful adaptation points are created for the selected SVC bit-stream. The method relies on decoder compensating for the removed spatio-temporal information. The subjective evaluation experiment is used as an illustrative test case that demonstrates the potential of the proposed concept.
