Abstract :
Using polyphase rectifier is an effective method to reduce harmonic components of current injected to the power supply for converter-fed power systems. A phase-shifting transformer is normally used for the phase-shifting. This paper presents an easy and economic way to eliminate the harmonic components in polyphase rectifying system by using the phase-shifting reactor instead of traditional phase-shifting transformer. The phase-shifting reactor connected in series with the rectifying circuit only needs a few turns which can reduce the size and cost of the phase-shifting circuit remarked. The structure, phase-shifting principle, choice of phase-shifting angle as well as turns and connection mode of the phase-shifting windings are discussed. The mathematic model and equivalent circuit of the polyphase rectifying system with phase-shifting reactor are presented. The simulation and experiment results verify the feasibility of the proposed design of polyphase rectifying system with phase-shifting reactor.
