Abstract :
The ultimate criteria in IPTV service evaluation is the quality of the audio and video signal delivered to the costumerpsilas television set. Since the IPTV distribution chain is very long and protocol stack very complex, it is important to have a continuous supervision of all critical parameters. The aim of the IPTV monitoring is to provide a solution which allows an operator to monitor a full service quality from the head-end and throughout the network, including the customerpsilas set-top box. All levels of the IPTV service have to be monitored, from the network aspects to the video content, including encrypted streams. Detailed principles of IPTV monitoring system are discussed in this paper.
