Abstract :
Demand for mobile wireless systems based on IEEE 802.16e standard for providing mobile broadband wireless access is increasing. Since system capacity, reliability and user mobility are of high importance to the users, efficient resource allocation and management is crucial. This paper investigates different interference scenarios in overlapping service areas using Monte-Carlo radio simulation methodology and estimates probability distribution of wanted and interfering signals. On the basis of results of the analysis, criteria for coexistence between mobile broadband wireless access systems is established and general rules for spectrum sharing and efficient usage of the radio spectrum resource in network planning is defined.
