Research on dynamic change management of WFMS

It is widely recognized that a workflow management system should provide flexible ways of managing workflow process change. And workflow dynamic change has become one of the major research topics in the area of workflow. In this article, current researches of workflow dynamic change are introduced, and the deficiencies of them are analysed. According to the characteristics of business process change management model, the concepts of directly effected change region and extended change region are introduced. Based on the effected region partitioning and the process instance execution state, the state-transition based flexible change transfer algorithm is proposed. And a self-construct method to form the directly effected change region and extended change region is introduced with XML technology. Finally, a case study is given to introduce the detailed process of change transfer and validate the algorithm on a workflow platform.
