Abstract :
In order to raise the productivity and precision of Numeric Control-Wire Cut Electric Discharge Machining with High Speed (NC-WEDM-HS) system of multi-axes, the basic idea of machining process simulation of this machining system was introduced. The characteristics and general laws of cutting complex curved surface by NC-WEDM-HS system of multi-axe were systematically analyzed, and the motion parameters and motion forms of NC-WEDM-HS system of multi-axe were also analyzed. The universal mathematical models of NC-WEDM-HS system of five-axes were derived. A lot of simulating programs were designed. An abundant database and the CAD software of the CAD system of Machining Spatial Curved Surface with NC-WEDM-HS were established. Good simulation results and CAD drawings were obtained. The application of this CAD technology is depicted. Expected results were achieved. The efficiency of machining complex curved surface of straight thread can be increased remarkably by application of this CAD technique. All these works provide an effective approach to resolve the problems of cutting complex curved surface parts by NC-WEDM-HS.
