  • Abstract
Description of processing duty based on a parallel machine tool joint coordinate is studied in this paper. Regarding to a new kind of parallel machine tool with three actuating rods developed in Northeastern University, the curved surface equation on machined workpiece will be transformed from Cartesian coordinates to joint coordinates by the coordinate transformation. According to curved surface equation described by the joint coordinates, two actuating rods of the parallel machine tool move in manner of interpolation simultaneously and that the other one moves intermittently in the surface machining. The research results shows that, in the control manner of the joint coordinates and under the guarantee processing precision premise, the machining process may achieve the results of timesaving, energy conservation. Therefore, it is significant that research the coordinate transformation from Cartesian coordinate to the joint coordinates.
