Abstract :
To increase the accurate finishing productivity of Inconel 600, plain turning by Tantalum thin film hard coated K20 carbide insert is studied. The main focus of this investigation is the turning performance of Inconel 600 with coated cutting insert by studying the relation ships among machining conditions such as feed rate, tool wear, cutting speed, depth of cut and work piece surface quality and material removal rate. Machining experiments are conducted on self centering medium duty lathe under different machining conditions. The result provides some useful information.
