Abstract :
In the s-curve acceleration and deceleration method, the residual vibration caused by discontinuity of jerk, couldn’t be avoided and could be minimized only by selecting a proper ramp-up time. To realize high speed machining, a flexible acceleration and deceleration method based on the sixth ordered displacement curve was introduced, the acceleration/deceleration functions were constructed by the quintic polynomial. The proposed method provides second derivative of speed, first derivative of acceleration and continuity of jerk in high speed machining, the system is more flexible and the residual vibration is completely avoided The method was analyzed and discussed in detail, supplying the theoretical basis for the practical application.
