Abstract :
This paper presents a method to design the shading coil in electromagnetic mechanism of AC contactor using ANSOFT Maxwell 3D. Taking CJ20-25 AC contactor as an example, the FEA model of electromagnet in AC contactor was established, and the contour of magnetic field density of electromagnet was worked out. The influence on magnetic force was also studied when the width and thickness of cross area of shading coil, length of shading coil and the slot position were changed. The optimal dimension of the shading coil is given based on parametric study.
