Abstract
In this paper, a design method for the power source of a multiphase inductor to realize certain temperature distribution in electromagnetism induction heating is presented. Firstly, physical model is built. Then hybrid analytic and FE method is proposed to estimate the voltages applied on multiphase inductor. Magnetic-thermal coupled finite element analysis is used as the basic facility of temperature computation. Finally, optimization algorithm is utilized to adjust the source voltages and heating break time automatically to obtain the aimed temperature distribution in the heating billet.
