Abstract :
Aiming at energy saving, efficient and low-cost, an approach of optimal design of a cooling system with compact structure for an 8 MeV-10 MeV irradiation accelerator is presented. A jacket-type cooling structure with a single-inlet helix water channel is chosen and minimum water flow, pressure and optimum inlet temperature are determined. As the result, a temperature distribution less than plusmn 2degC is obtained, which makes the accelerator work very well. The simulation is done by means of an engineering design and analysis system, I-DEAS. It can provide important reference for the design of the similar high-average-power linear accelerators.
