Abstract :
This paper is intended to serve as an introduction to the conceptual design of control system for a compact free electron laser (FEL) terahertz radiation source (FTRS). The general architecture of the control system is presented. The hardware components, software design, communications and subsystems are described in the paper. We also discuss a novel method of using Matlab Simulinkstateflow to simulate the control logic and interlock, which can shorten the design process and provide more support to the optimization of the conceptual design for FTRS.
