Abstract
Instantaneous values of input line-to-line voltages control method is one of the important control strategies for matrix converter. By using this control method the compensation of the asymmetrical input source voltages is easily achieved. However, many researchers focus on pursing a new control strategy for this method due to the complexity of the previous control strategy and difficulty of its realization. In the present paper, a new PWM method that can achieve both sinusoidal input and output currents simultaneously is considered, which simplifies the composition rule of duty ratios. And the universal expression of duty ratios composition is also summarized, which is suitable for all sector combination. Moreover, a new variable to express the polarity of the extremal input voltage. The proposed approach reduces the number of sectors half, which makes instantaneous value control strategy more practical. The validity of the new control strategy is verified by experiments.
