            Abstract : 
Most dynamic characteristics analyses of magnetic bearing are based on the simplified mathematic model neglecting the non-linear electromagnetic relationship between the stator and rotor. This paper presents a detailed analysis and experimental study on the dynamic characteristics of magnetic bearings for a high speed permanent magnet motor. The analysis based on field-circuit coupling method can give more accurate result than the simplified linear model since the inference of nonlinear relation and stator slots are taken into account in the analysis.
