Abstract :
The skin effect of rotor current is one of key factors which affect the simulation accuracy of three-phase induction motors with deep rotor bars. This paper proposes an improved dynamic model considering the skin effect of three-phase induction motors at arbitrary operation, from the starting to rated-load operation. The simulation results using the proposed model are compared with those from the 2-dimensional (2D) transient finite element analysis (FEA).
