Abstract :
This paper describes the application of indirect adaptive fuzzy control to the speed controller of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) under external load disturbances and parameter variations in the plant. The proposed indirect adaptive fuzzy speed controller is based on feedback linearization and its parameters are updated by both speed tracking error and filtered prediction error, designed by Lyapunov synthesis. Moreover, the singleton fuzzy system is designed to approximate the unknown plant of PMSM in the proposed controller. This paper is structured as follows. First, the model of the PMSM is introduced. Then, a speed control scheme is proposed. Furthermore, the design procedure of the indirect adaptive fuzzy control algorithm is described. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified by simulations compared with the integral-proportional (IP) speed controller. The proposed controller is found not only to be robust to changes in load and system parameters, but also to have high tracking performance. Suggestion is also provided for the practical implementation.
