Abstract :
Taking Matlab/Simulink as a platform, a single-machine infinite-bus system simulation model of AC excited generator (ACEG) is established. The stator flux oriented vector control strategy and direct power control strategy of ACEG are proposed in this paper. With this model of ACEG, the steady state regulation characteristics of active power and reactive power and the transient processes of a sudden 3-phase-to-ground fault are simulated to compare the performance of these two control strategies. The simulation result shows that active power and reactive power are controlled separately and it has a better dynamic performance and dynamic track capacity under stator flux oriented vector control strategy. Conclusively, stator flux oriented vector control strategy is a better choice to be the excitation control strategy of ACEG.
