  • Abstract
Flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) motor is a new brushless machine with magnets in the stator, offering the advantages of robust rotor structure, high power density and high efficiency. In this paper, a transient co-simulation method of coupled magnetic and electric circuit solvers is adopted for performance analysis of a FSPM motor drive. The magnetic circuit and the electric circuit are coupled in time-domain, providing the possibility of system level simulation. A three-phase 12/10-pole FSPM motor is designed and built for verification. The good agreements between co-simulated and measured data show the effectiveness of the presented co-simulation model.
