Abstract :
This paper introduces an optimized sync switching method of spring operating mechanism based vacuum circuit breaker (VCB), and the development of an actual control system using TI 2812 DSP. This optimized method could efficiently reduce the switching surges caused by VCB operation. In this paper, factors that drift operating times including control voltage and count of operations are analyzed. An adaptive prediction control strategy is introduced to enhance the operation accuracy and the reliability of sync switching system, based on which a synchronous control system prototype is developed. The test results show this synchronous control system prototype operates accurately at specified phase angle and could modify the variations within 4 operation cycles when VCB operating time drifts as environment conditions or fatigue of mechanism operating.
