Abstract :
This paper presents a preliminary analysis of the performance of space based GNSS-R scatterometry. In particular, this paper focuses on the characterisation of the processed delay-Doppler Map (DDM) with respect to the sea surface state as well as to the antenna pattern. The analyses are conducted on simulated waveforms; therefore characterization of models for sea state and scattering description and related assumptions adopted for the simulations are carefully addressed and described. All the analyses have been performed considering the currently broadcasted L1-band GPS C/A code signal.
