Abstract :
XML (Extensible Markup Language) has recently emerged as a new standard for data representation and exchange on the Internet. It is expected that XML will become a universal format for data exchange on the Web. Thus, many electronic materials, such as documents and business data, will be expressed in XML or converted to XML from existing databases, and then exchanged over the Internet. Temporal information as XML attribute plays an important role. This paper presents a new temporal XML indexing method, denoted Semantic-Tree Index which based on TXPath model. We construct node table and temporal semantic tree, and divide node set in accordance with the time of the semantics point. New index method efficiently processes queries in temporal XML.
