  • Abstract
In order to improve the capacity of airports to handle the expected increasing amount of traffic, the knowledge about the safety issues for wake vortexes mitigation has to be improved. Currently, safety distances are very conservative and depend only on category size of aircrafts, without taking into account local wind nowcasting. The final goal is to develop a Wake Vortex Alert System for controllers to ensure operationally in all weather conditions adaptive appropriate not oversized separation rules. In a first step, it is necessary to perform long time data collections of wake vortex sensor signature on large European airports.
