Abstract
Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) is an optimum technique for target detection in the presence of Gaussian clutter [1,2]. However, for high resolution sea surveillance radar, clutter statistical properties are different [5]. Therefore classical STAP must be redefined. It can be done in the framework of the theory of Spherically Invariant Random Process (SIRP). In this paper a simple method of improving STAP performance in the presence of non-Gaussian clutter is proposed. Results are validated using simulated data.
