Abstract
For power efficiency and capacity in IEEE 802.11-based wireless mesh networks, an efficient power control scheme is proposed in single-channel wireless networks. With the proposed power control scheme, nodes can decide their transmission power level and whether they can transmit data on the information they exchanged in the ad hoc traffic indication message (ATIM) window. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of our approach and demonstrate that the proposed scheme is effective and significantly improves energy gains and the quality of service (QoS) in terms of throughput and end-to-end delay metrics.
