Abstract
Utility and price functions, as two economics concepts, have been employed to allocate resource in wireless network recently. In this paper, we propose a novel sub-carrier allocation methodology, Utility-Pricing-Ratio (UPR), to balance the efficiency and fairness in 3G LTE OFDMA systems. To compare the performance of our algorithm in LTE system, we simulate three sub-carrier allocation schemes, the throughput-based scheme, the fixed frequency scheme, and the scheme proposed in this study. Finally the simulation results show that UPR-based schemes outperform throughput-based and fixed sub-carrier allocation schemes in terms of better average rate and user fairness.
