Abstract :
Ionospheric propagation at HF suffers from dispersion in both time and frequency domains. This paper introduces a model to calculate coherence bandwidth of HF channel in the scenario of reflections by E and F layers with plane valley ionospheric electron density profile. Furthermore, we calculate and analyze coherence bandwidths for various operating frequencies and ground distances. In comparison with the use of the single layer model, our results are found more close to the measured values.
