Abstract :
A single-receiver mobile location method is proposed for wideband code-division-multiple-access (WCDMA) systems from the aspects of 3GPP protocols. To achieve high accuracy and low cost, the proposed scheme utilizes one single receiver as a third party and combines the time differential of arrival (TDOA) measurement from the uplink delicated physical channel (DPCH) signal to the downlink DPCH signal together with the direction of arrival (DOA) measurement from the received uplink signal. The paper also gives out the location model and then uses penalty function method to estimate UE´s location. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method has higher accuracy than the conventional method.
