Abstract
A computational algorithm for implementing boiler load optimization in real time is presented. The algorithm is based on reallocating of loads to each boiler in real time in order to obtain equal incremental steam costs. The algorithm uses the losses method for computing efficiency on-line instead of a static model. The algorithm is configured in terms of function blocks commnon to state-of-the-art microprocessor based distributed control systems. The advantages of a distributed supervisory control system over presently implemented computer supervisory control systems are discussed.
