Abstract :
The problem of generation scheduling for an electric power system with random load and transmission system disturbances is considered. Using security regions, both the steady-state and dynamic performance of the system is accounted for. The measure of security of the system is expected time to insecurity and an iterative technique for constructing a sequence of schedules is given, such that they approach the optimal.
