Abstract
The subject controller was described in a previous paper "A Self-Tuning Controller", by H. S. Hoopes, W. M. Hawk, Jr., and R. C. Lewis, published by ISA in October 1982. Additional information is given regarding practical considerations and performance. Means of dealing with noise, discontinuities, offsets and process inactivity are presented. Performance in typical applications is appraised.
