Abstract
Two methods for estimating coherence are compared experimentally. The first is the "traditional" method where power spectra are estimated using averaged periodograms. The second method involves power spectral estimates that are obtairied via adaptive modeling. The experimental conditions are similar to those that might be expected in working with seismometers.
