Abstract :
We discuss some numerical aspects in control theory. Using as the particular example the problem of computing the controllable subspace of a linear time invariant linear system, we show how some classical methods can lead to numerical problems and give some recent results giving bounds on the errors in terms of results obtainable from classical methods.
