Abstract
This paper presents a new multivariable generalized self-tuning controller which adopts the new structure of decoupling control. The controller proposed not only possesses the major benefits of self-tuning optimal control and pole-zero placement, but also realizes adaptive decoupling control. It specifically handles different time delays between each of the input-output pairs. The effective decoupling adptive algorithm is very simple. The successful application to a double-input-double-output electrically heated furnace and the comparison with a generalized minimu variance self-tuning controller using experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of controller proposed.
