Abstract
This paper describes a method for obtaining minimum variance estimates of the power and flux distributions in an operating boiling water reactor. The method features updates of the covariance matrix for measurement error as new data sets are obtained. Test results show that the minimum variance estimate reduces measurement bias better than alternative methods.
