Abstract :
An algorithm for track initiation and continuation is described in this paper. The algorithm is capable of initiating maneuvering and non-maneuvering targets in the presence of environmental clutter. This approach accounts for missing target detections, and resolves conflicts such as crossing target trajectories. This is accomplished by splitting the target trajectory when more than one measurement is found inside the the tracking gate. False target trajectories are eliminated using an m out of n detector, and redundant target tracks are reduced by combining tracks with similar state estimates. In addition, a track termination logic is included. Various tracking filters are proposed for state estimation, and prediction.
