Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to review the progression of control system design hardware and software tools in recent years and address the impact on control system design, analysis, and simulation requirements in today´s design environment. Possible use of expert systems will also be addressed. No particular hardware or software is endorsed, but merely presented as to what is available.
