Abstract
The applications of some recent optimal and geometric techniques, for analyzing and controlling a broad class of nonlinear systems, to different fermentation processes modeled by nonlinear differential equations are presented. Several interesting results have been obtained concerning the structure of these processes. These results have allowed to design some control laws that are better than the conventional PID´s.
