Abstract
This short paper will address the problem of consistent parameter estimation in adaptive regulation and adaptive control for multivariable, deterministic systems. The parameter estimators considered here are the RLS estimator and the RLS estimator with covariance resetting. A decaying excitation technique, which is similar to that given in (2), will be used to ensure consistent parameter estimation for the multivariable system without imposing any restrictions on the memory vector ¿(k).
